Obituary

Penelope "Penny" Morrill, 79, of Dade City, Florida, passed away on July 3, 2026. Born on September 3, 1946, in Groton, Massachusetts, Penny lived a life defined by hard work, service to her community, and unwavering love for her family, friends, and the many pets she cherished throughout her life. Penny met the love of her life, David "Dave" Morrill, and they married on September 5, 1981.

Penny's faith was a cornerstone of her life. It shaped the compassion she showed to others, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

A dedicated and respected professional, Penny spent her early years as a nurse, caring for others. After her nursing career, she found her calling and spent the next 27 years at the helm of Sunrise of Pasco, Domestic and Sexual Violence Center, where her leadership, commitment, and care left a lasting impact on the community and all who had the privilege of working with her. She was a Kiwanian and a member of the local Chamber of Commerce, among many other civic organizations. She became a pillar of the community and took great pride in her work, earning the admiration of those around her through her integrity, strength, and kindness. During her career she received many awards and accolades, even being named a Tampa Bay Lightning Community Hero.

Outside of her career, Penny was a woman of faith and she loved to travel with her husband, Dave. She enjoyed sailing and found great joy from the companionship of her beloved pets. After retiring from Sunrise in 2013, she dedicated her time to volunteer work.

Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and warm smile will be remembered by all who knew her.

Penny leaves behind her stepchildren, grandchildren and countless lives that were enriched by her kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.

Penny was preceded in death by her husband, Dave. Their enduring love and partnership remained a guiding force throughout her life.

May we take comfort in knowing she is at peace, reunited with her beloved Dave, in the presence of her lord.
