Obituary

Peggyann L. McGill, 83, of Zephyrhills, FL, formerly of Aitkin, MN, passed away peacefully at home with loved ones by her side on August 18, 2026, after a short but devastating illness.

Born on November 4, 1942, in Hector, MN, to Alvin and Lorraine Larson, the first born of five children.

She worked hard her whole life from the age of thirteen, first at a nursing home then numerous cashier jobs and ending her work life with Bahr's Propane in Dade City, FL. 

Peggy married on November 12, 1960, to Gary Modin in Aitkin, MN, and had three children before he passed away on November 13, 1979.

In 1985, she relocated to Zephyrhills, FL, with her son, Troy, and started the next chapter of her life.

In December 1986, Peggy married her second husband, Robert W. McGill, and helped him raise his adopted son. 

Robert passed away March 1, 2004, and Peggy never remarried after this.

She worked hard as a cashier at many numerous convenient stores and enjoyed gardening, bowling, and her two grandchildren. She was also a member of the lions club for a few years and loved helping with bingo nights. 

Peggy was preceded in death by her husbands, Gary (1979) and Robert (2004); her daughter, Debrah Savonen (2009); her brother, Allan Larson; along with her parents, Alvin and Lorraine.

Peggy is survived by her children, Donna Modin and Troy Modin of Zephyrhills; her grandchildren, Heather Barber and Andrea Larson of Minnesota and Payton Modin of Zephyrhills. Also surviving her are her siblings, Carol (Wayne) Sharp of St Petersburg, FL, Charles H. Larson of Zephyrhills, and Karen (Calvin) Dickenson of Dade City; and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and relatives too numerous to mention and a grand dog named Abigail.

There will be a celebration of Life for her in May of 2027 in Lindstrom, MN, at her favorite lake spot.
