Paula Kay Toombs, 71, of Zephyrhills passed away 09/19/2022 at Advent Health Zephyrhills. She was born 02/11/1951 in South Bend, IN to Edwin and Elsie Schaeffer. In 1969 she graduated from LaVille High School. She graduated from nursing school in 1972 as a Registered Nurse and was employed by Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. She later was employed by Chapel Home Health Care. In 1991 she received a Bachelors degree. She enjoyed gardening especially flowers. She loved cats and dogs especially Slick and Denni. She also enjoyed Antique shopping. Paula had a passion for her nursing career and cared more for others then herself. Above all she loved her family and friends. All treasured her heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Elsie Schaeffer; husband, Dennis Toombs; brother, Michael Schaeffer; sister, Vicky Schaeffer Vance; Survived by 3 children, Stacie Renee Toombs (Brian Greathouse) Jacob William Schaeffer Toombs, Matthew Edwin Toombs; sister Julie Schaeffer (James Clark), Significant other of 18 years, Edward Mari and life long friend, Linda Sorentino.
