Survived by her sister Janet Glaede. Five sons; Ted Jr and Sandy; Jeff and Lois; Scott and Cindy; Chris and Stephanie, Brian and Sherry. Six Grandchildren; Jason and Claudine Hill; Heather and TJ Watson; Bobbie and Dan Myers; Corey Hill; Strother and Rhiannon Hill. Three Great Grandchildren: Patrick and Joshua Hill; Logan Watson.
Paula met Ted, her basketball hero and percussion band member while attending George Rogers Clark High School in Whiting, IN where she graduated in 1952. Most of their sons played in the band; Trumpet, saxophone, percussion. Paula and Ted were avid participants and supporters of the world famous Band of Gold from Largo High School, under the direction of Robert Cotter; that won the World Championship in Kerkrade, Holland in 1974. Paula was the CFO for fundraising and money management for the trip which was a true highlight in their lifetime; touring Europe and celebrating the victory. Throughout her career from retail sales to climbing the ladder in the banking industry Paula was defined by her attention to every minute financial detail while demonstrating her own unique style of personal care and concern to clients, friends, family. She enjoyed many activities including Youth leadership at their church, camping, painting, pottery, Suncoast singers, playing the piano, gardening and visiting her family that was spread across the country. She took great care to make certain everyone had their own time and attention.
Paula was a woman of character and faith who had a fierce and fiery determination to stand for her beliefs, for the innocent ones, for those near to her heart. Her gentleness and compassionate heart was most often displayed for those who did not have their own voice - most recently with her latest rescue dog Sammy. He stood guard over his Mom and was a loyal companion.
Moms humor, her sharp wit, her laughter, her wisdom, the twinkle in her eyes even the infamous eye rolls will be etched in our memories. What a legacy of love and laughter she gave. We will treasure them forever. How we will miss her. We celebrate her life knowing she dances today in eternity, reunited with Ted and her Savior. If you desire to express a token of your love for Paula; perhaps she might ask that in lieu of flowers or gifts; you would give the most valuable gift of all the priceless gift of TIME with your mother, your aunt, your sister, your loved one. A call, a card, a visit that no one else but you can present to them. Flowers fade, gifts can be forgotten but the memory of your presence will always be embedded in their hearts. If you want to present a gift, a donation to the veterans society of your choice would be appreciated.
Mom, you will live on in our hearts. We love you and will honor you with our dedication to living a life that would be worthy of the lessons you have taught and lived these past 90+ years. We will endeavor to bring as many smiles, and as much comfort and goodness to others, as
demonstrated in your lifetime. Then perhaps one day it can also be said of us: "Well done Good and Faithful Servant".
A memorial service will be planned at a future date. Thank you for your friendship and love.
