Patricia Ann "Pat" Shine, 78, of Oxford, Florida, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2025, at the University of Florida Spanish Plaines Hospital with her daughter by her side.

Pat was born July 30, 1946, in Newark, New Jersey, to Sophie Krucar Zbikowski and George Howe. She spent many years in Millers Falls, Massachusetts, where she met and married Moses V. Croteau, who passed away in 1975.

Pat worked as a special education teacher's assistant at Erving Elementary School before moving to Florida with her husband, David Shine, who she married in 1980. She then started her own business, Pat's Cleaning Service, and thoroughly enjoyed caring for her clients who often became lifelong friends. Pat was also a beloved "band mom" to her daughters friends from Zephyrhills High School, many of whom still visited regularly and called her "Mom" til the very end.

Throughout her life, Pat was an animal lover, never without the love and companionship of a pet or "granddog" or "grandcat." She also enjoyed reading and watching westerns, mysteries, and classic TV shows. In her later years, her favorite activities included sharing long talks over coffee with her neighbor and friend, Jerry; taking road trips and enjoying ice cream and Italian food with her daughter, Tammi; talking on the phone with her "niece" Becky and other extended family in New England; and spending time outside in the sun with her friend and physical therapist, Osa.

Pat is survived by her daughter, Tammi Croteau of Tampa, FL; her step-daughter, Deneen "Deenie" Cirillo of Warwick, MA; and many close friends and extended family throughout the country.

At Pat's request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the animal welfare charity of your choice, or simply sharing smiles and kindness with family, friends, and neighbors, as these were the priceless gifts she appreciated most.
