Patricia A. Mikolajczak, 73, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 in Zephyrhills, Florida. Born 10/26/1942 to Rufus R. Smithpeters and Marie L. Borrelli, in Chicago, Illinois where she participated in bowling, volleyball and softball leagues, danced with her cousins and worked in downtown Chicago. Patricia moved to Zephyrhills, Florida in 1977 with her husband of 54 years and two children. She loved working at West Elementary School where helping the children brought her much joy. While working at the Pasco County School Board she was awarded Pasco County Non/ instructional Employee of the year 2000. This award really meant a lot to her. In 2005 Patricia retired to travel and spend more time with her family and friends.As an active member in the community, Patricia served as the President Pasco County Associations for Office Personnel, Coached Dixie League Girls Softball, and was a member of Zephyrhills Beta Sigma Phi. She loved to dance--in and out of the water (Zumba), to laugh with family and friends and to have a great time. Survived by her loving, children Ronald and Melissa Mikolajczak, (Andrea Ocampo) and grandson Andrew Mikolajczak.Preceded in death by parents Rufus and Marie Smithpeters, sister Mary Ruth and brother in law, Gordon Hirsch and husband, Richard L. Mikolajczak.A shared funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, (38710 5th Ave., Zephyrhills, FL) October 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. in honor of Patricias and her husband Richards life followed by a memorial reception at 12:30 pm hosted by the family in St. Joseph parish center where they will greet friends and relatives and gather to share food and fond memories.In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Moffitt Cancer Center Foundation.
