Pat Alton Bass passed away peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023. He was born in Bell, Florida on March 30, 1935 and lived most of his life in Dade City, Florida. Our Dad was respected and loved by all who knew him. He was the kind of person who was always willing to help and one who would never ask for help. He married our Mom on June 11, 1955 which was the start of a great love and partnership in his life. They worked together owning the Toms distributor business and when they sold the company, our Dad got his dream job working as a heavy equipment operator for the Forest Service in Richloam. He loved being outdoors with nature. He had a crazy love for fishing and fished like he did everything else in his life completely all-in. He is survived by his wife, Ernell Bass, children Patty Gilbert, Pam Freedman and Eddie Bass & Amber Bass along with his grandchildren Matthew Bass, Taylor Bass, Josh Freedman, Tony Bass and Katie Freedman and his granddaughter in law Ashley Bass and great grandson Mason Bass. Hes now in heaven with all the other loved ones who left this earth before him. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida. A time of visitation will take place before service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Following the service, Interment will take place at Linden Cemetery in Linden, Florida.
