Oscar Francis Hulber, age 90, passed away peacefully May 1, 2016 in Crystal River, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara, and children: Lynn Hulber of Homosassa, Florida, Jim Hulber (Beckey) of Gladwin, Michigan and Kerry Hulber of Destin, Florida. Oscar was born in Flint, Michigan on May 17, 1925 to Nicholas and Mary (Molnar) Hulber. He graduated from Flint Central High School then enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served aboard the USS Kendrick during WWII, 1943-1946. He married Barbara Arrand on November 11, 1950 in Flint, Michigan and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Burton. He was employed for 27 years by AC Spark Plug as a tool & die maker and retired to Zephyrhills, Florida in 1987, where he enjoyed bowling, golfing, wood carving and world travels. He was a great father and example to his children and grandchildren but his greatest joy in life was as a loving husband, provider and protector of Barbara for 65 years.Also surviving are grandchildren: Kristy Hulber Schmidt, Jill Hulber, Katie Davis (Rusty), Jami Shanks (David), (8) great grandchildren and Sister and Brother in-Laws Helen Arrand, Phyllis Plewes (John), Gloria Lindahl (Bob) and many nieces and nephews. Oscar was preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Mary Hulber, brother Ernest, sisters Helen and Malvene and brother-in-law Glen Arrand.Funeral services will be held 1-3 Pm May 4, 2016 at Shady Oaks. He will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery,Bushnell.
