Olive Gayle Folds passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, family, and devotion. She was a woman who cherished her family above all else and found joy in the simple pleasures of life.
She was born on June 2nd , 1960, in Shelbyville, Indiana to Bill and Betty Warren
Olive was married to her beloved husband, Walter Folds, on February 10, 1979, in Tampa, Florida. Together they built a life centered on family and care for others.
Olive was a dedicated worker who retired from being a CNA after over 30 years of service. Outside of work, she enjoyed watching television, relaxing in her rocking chair on the back porch, and especially spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved watching them play and ride their four-wheelers, moments that brought her great happiness. Moments when her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were all together were the moments she cherished more than anything.
She is survived by her children: Jessica Fortson, Little Walter Folds, Jason Folds, and Samantha Lewis (Josh Lewis).
Olive also leaves behind a large and loving group of grandchildren: Destiny Folds, William Folds, Cameron Davis, Christian Folds, Kimberly (“Kimmy”) Fortson, Timothy (“Timmy”) Fortson, George Folds, Walter Folds Jr., Amaryllis Folds, Kaydelya Folds, Grant Lewis, Carson Lewis, and Bella Lewis. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Koda Nash and Khloe Perez
She is also survived by her loving brothers and sisters: Ronnie Oliphant, Donnie Oliphant, Pauline Gwin, Jimmy Warren, Ruth Folds, John Warren, and Shirley Bricker.
In addition, she is survived by many nieces and nephews. She also held a special place in her heart for Troy Garber and Donald Pierce (Hollywood), whom she loved as her own.
She was Predeceased by her parents Bill and Betty Warren, brother Billy Warren, her son Matthew Folds, and her Granddaughter Rachel Metcalf
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 8th, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Crystal Springs Worship Center. Arrangements are entrusted to Hodges Family Funeral Home.
