Norman Lee Yakes 82, of Dade City, FL passed away Friday, December 30th, 2022 in Zephyrhills under the care of Gulfside Regional Hospice. He was born April 29, 1940 in Elkhorn, WI to Raymond C. & June Yakes. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and retired from General Motors Security Department. He was an active member of the Zephyrhills AmVets, the Zephyrhills VFW, the Birchwood, Wisconsin American Legion, and the Elkhorn Moose Lodge.
Norman is survived by his wife Patricia Ann Young; 2 sons: David (Sherry) Yakes, Darrell (Paula) Yakes; 1 stepdaughter: Lynn Marie (Johnny M.) Lazenby; 3 brothers: Tom (Dixie) Yakes, Douglas (Amy) Yakes, Richard (Roxanne) Yakes; 2 step-grandchildren: Chad Young, Amanda (Charlie) Zultowski; 3 step-great grandchildren: Heidi, Charlotte & Isabel Zultowski; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents: Raymond & June Yakes; and his first wife Marilyn Joanne Yakes.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in his memory to the Zephyrhills AmVets.
