Nina Jean Ashbrook 89, of Dade City, FL passed away Thursday, August 30, 2018. She was born August 1, 1929 in Winter Garden, FL to Charles Fred & Agnes Ruth Bland Rollins and was a member of the Trilacoochee Church of Christ. Mrs. Ashbrook was retired from a realty career. She was a "candy striper" while working at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Dade City, she also served as a bookkeeper/accountant, an insurance investigator and a substitute teacher. She was active in many good works such as visiting the sick and shut-ins, feeding those who were in need, being a hostess to many visitors to her home and also caring for and being a caregiver to her parents and her husband. She opened her doors to her brother's children: Melody, Louise and Charles while their father was overseas. She is survived by her daughters: Marion Ann Harrell and Mary Lynn Frye; 4 grandchildren: Sarah Elizabeth Watson, James Campbell Collier, Cody Wayne Frye, Melissa Frank; 3 siblings: William Rollins, Nell Stevens, Charles Rollins and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Fred & Agnes Rollins; a daughter: Mary Lynn Ashbrook Frye and 1 brother: Charles Rollins Jr. A memorial service will be held 2pm Sunday, September 2, 2018 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City.
