It is with great sorrow that we share the information of the passing of Nicholas F. Klak III (April 24, 1937 January 20, 2023). Nick was a beloved husband, father, and friend to many. Nick was born in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to Nicholas F Klak II and Beatrice Klak in 1937 and moved to Milan, Michigan during World War II when his father did his federal service as a prison guard at the Michigan Penitentiary in Milan. Nick graduated from Milan High School (Class of 1955) and then attended Michigan State University where he got his teaching degree and later earned his Masters Degree. Mr. Klak was a teacher for the Holly Area Schools for 33 years, retiring in 1992 and eventually relocating to Zephyrhills, Florida. Nick began his teaching career at the Mable D. Bensett school in 1959 teaching 6th grade. He soon moved to Holly High School where he remained for the rest of his career teaching social studies and English and positively influencing hundreds of Holly Students. In Zephyrhills, Nick continued to pursue his interests in computers and writing, and dabbled in music; singing, and learning to play the piano and guitar. Nick was always curious about other peoples lives and stories and developed friendships with many. He is survived by Wilma, his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, his sons, Nick Klak IV (JoAnn), John Klak (Allyson), four grandchildren Elizabeth Klak, David Klak, Nick Klak V, Maria Klak, his sister Jackie Distenfeld (Carl), numerous cousins, nieces, nephews as well as many loving friends who will miss him dearly. A celebration of life will be held for Nick at the First Presbyterian Church of Zephyrhills at 1:00 PM on Saturday, February 11th with a reception following in the fellowship hall for folks to chat and remember Nick. Light snacks will be provided. Donations in lieu of flowers can be made in Nicks honor to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or the Betmar Acres Chorus.
