Naomi Caroll
Baker
Jan 14, 1936 — Oct 5, 2026
Naomi Caroll Baker, 90, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 14, 1936, in East Meredith, New York, Naomi was the daughter of John Gilbert Stewart and Vera Belle Turner. She grew up in New York alongside her siblings, Jean, Helen, and Harold, and attended Charlotte Valley Central School in Davenport, New York, where she completed the twelfth grade.
On December 28, 1956, Naomi married Daniel R. Baker in West Oneonta, New York. Together, they built a life centered around family, faith, and love, and were blessed with two daughters. Over the years, Naomi called several New York communities home, including Oneonta, Laurens, East Meredith, and Davenport, before moving to Zephyrhills, Florida, in 1969.
Naomi spent more than 20 years working as a landscaper and Owner. She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, especially going for walks and spending time with those she loved. A devoted woman of faith and a self-described child of God, Naomi was a prayer warrior whose belief in the power of prayer remained an important part of her life. Her faith was not merely something she spoke of, but something she carried with her each day.
Above all, Naomi treasured her family. She took great pride in her two daughters and the generations that followed, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and faith.
Naomi is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Clyde) Stoaks and Dawn Baker, both of Zephyrhills, Florida; her grandchildren, Jessica (Marquis I) Drake; and her great-grandchildren, Devontay Everett, Marquis II Drake, and Zayden Drake. She is also survived by extended family members, including nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved ex husband, Daniel Baker, who passed away on July 30, 1990; her parents, John Gilbert Stewart and Vera Belle Turner; and her siblings, Jean Smith, Helen Roe, and Harold Stewart.
A funeral service honoring Naomi's life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Alliance Church. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Gulfside Hospice's Rucki Hospice Care Center in memory of Naomi Caroll Baker.
