Mollie J. Brown

November 13, 1931 – May 14, 2025

Mollie J. Brown, 93, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born in Tampa, FL, on November 13, 1931, to Fred C. Shaffer and Mollie J. Collins. Mollie attended Sacred Heart Academy and Brewster Tech, and later retired from the State of Florida.

Mollie married Winton Donnell Brown, with whom she had 11 children. She was predeceased by her husband, Winton Donnell Brown Sr., and five of her children: Winton D. Brown Jr., Charles Brown, Thomas Brown, John Brown, and Rose Marie Brown.

Mollie is survived by six of her children: sons James, Joseph, and Frank Brown, and daughters Donna Ratliff, Mary Hormuth, and Victoria Waters. She was a proud grandmother to 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

A devout member of the Catholic faith, Mollie was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Zephyrhills.

Funeral Arrangements:

• Viewing: Monday, May 19, 2025, from 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM at Hodges Family Funeral Home.

• Mass: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM at St. Joseph's Church, Zephyrhills.

• Burial: Crystal Springs Cemetery, following Mass.

• Reception: Crystal Springs Community Center, immediately after burial.

Mollie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
