Obituary

Michael was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent some of his career as a framer with the Carpenter Contractors of America. Throughout his life, he also took on various odd jobs, always willing to lend a hand wherever it was needed. Known for his quiet and caring personality, Michael was always attentive to other's needs.

Above all, Michael was deeply devoted to his family. He made the decision to remain close to home to care for his mother, a role he fulfilled with unwavering love and commitment. His kindness and charity toward his family, especially his mother was always admired.

Michael also had a creative spirit and was known for his distinct style of artwork. Ever since he was a little boy, he was always creating something. His drawings, unique and personal, were cherished by his family and reflected a side of him that words often could not express.

Throughout his life, Michael suffered severely, physically and mentally due to a traumatic brain injury. God only knows the pain that he went through. He offered everything to his mother in heaven and Our Lord Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Eric Laursen; his cousin, Jon Kelly Givens; and his brother-in-law, George Michael Fredericks.

He is survived by his loving mother, Patricia Marie Oppel; his sister, Jennifer Marie Fredericks; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Michael will be remembered for his kindness, his creativity, and the quiet strength with which he lived his life. His presence will be deeply missed, but he always kept close to our dear mother and wore the Miraculous Medal and Scapular every day of his life. May Our Lady keep him under her mantle and may God have mercy upon his soul.

Eternal Father, I offer You the most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the Universal Church, those in my own home, and within my family. Amen.
