Michael Kent McKeehan, born on December 8, 1949, in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2026, in Plant City, Florida. He was a beloved father, brother, and friend, leaving behind cherished memories for his family and all who knew him.
Michael was a self-employed individual, co-owning McKeehan Signs Inc., where he dedicated his skills to the manufacturing industry. His passion extended beyond his work; he was an avid gardener who found joy in nurturing plants and cultivating beauty in his surroundings. Additionally, Michael enjoyed playing music, particularly guitar, keyboard, and drums, and was a member of a cover band called Phoenix. He cherished moments spent on his motorcycle, particularly during Harley Davidson charity rides, where he felt a deep sense of community and purpose.
He is survived by his daughter Jaime Benscoter and son-in-law Michael Benscoter, son Michael McGinnis, and daughter-in-law Meredith McGinnis. His legacy continues through his grandchildren-Shelby, Hailey, Michael Benscoter, and Jessie McGinnis-who brought him immense joy. Michael is also survived by his sister Cheryl Richardson, brother Gary McKeehan, brother-in-law Brian Richardson, and sister-in-law Vallery McKeehan, all of whom will miss his warmth and kindness.
Michael's passion for morel mushroom hunting and playing card games brought laughter and connection to gatherings with family and friends. His embrace of life and exploration of various interests, including his involvement with Scientology, reflected his vibrant spirit. He will be fondly remembered for the love he shared and the unforgettable moments created-a testament to a life fully lived.
