ARNO, Michael Roy, 82, of Zephyrhills, FL, entered into eternal rest on Monday, March 21, 2022, in Hudson, FL. Born on August 12, 1939, in Shawano, WI., to parents, Michael Roy Arno and Ann Radke Arno.
Michael was joined in marriage to Joan Katherine Forsyth, on June 13, 1964, in Boulder, CO. He received his masters degree in Public Administration from the University of Colorado. During the course of his twenty-seven-year tenure with the Redevelopment Authority of the City of Philadelphia, he held a myriad of positions becoming Executive Director and retiring as such.
Michael left an indelible mark on the institutional and residential development in the Philadelphia community including such projects as the planning and expansion of facilities for the University of Pennsylvania and Drexel University, while at the same time, accommodating the areas housing needs. He significantly improved the viability of the Philadelphia Center City development and laid the foundation for the completion of Market Street East, Gallery I, and Gallery II as well as the site preparation for the Philadelphia Convention Center Headquarters. He was responsible for the funding both private and public, of Philadelphias two most successful housing programs of the 1980s.

Arnos Honor, Fourth Degree Knight, Knights of Columbus, Service Award - Waldron Academy (1979), Paul Harris Fellow, Rotary International, Elmwood Bowling League Champion (Philadelphia).
His hobbies included bowling, and being an overall avid sports fan, his favorite teams included, Green Bay Packers (also a stockholder), Los Angeles (Minneapolis) Lakers, and the Chicago White Sox.
He is survived by, his loving wife, Joan Katherine Forsyth, children, Michael John Arno, Elizabeth Ann Arno, and Mary McKendrick Chapman, Grandchildren; Caitlyn Ann Arno, Madison Clare Arno, Michael John Arno II, Caroline Grace Arno, Benjamin Joseph Arno, Sofia Isabel Andrade, and Daniel Alexander Andrade.
Preceded in death by, parents; Michael Roy Arno and Ann Radke Arno, Paternal Grandparents, Henry M. Arno, Louise Bartlein, and Maternal Grandparents, Joseph Radke, Mary Jane Lizotte.
Services are scheduled for Saturday, April 9th, 2022 at St. Josephs Catholic Church, 38710 5th Ave, Zephyrhills, FL 33542, gathering from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, with a luncheon to follow.
He will be interred at a later date at Green Mountain Memorial Park, in Boulder, Colorado.
