We regretfully announce the recent passing of Mena Anne Suarez-Thompson. Born October 6, 1949, inBattles Warf Alabama. A lifelong resident of Dade City Florida.Mena passed on December 30,2022 and is soaring high with the angels, singing and dancing forever.Most people knew her as Miss Mena. We only know her as Mom. We were fortunate to have her. Ourmother marched to the beat of her own drum. She didnt fit into any box. Mena was the original "FreeSpirit". Never passing judgement and always supportive. Somehow, in her own way, she was always ableto connect with people. This was her superpower.We are often asked "how is Miss Mena". Now we will reply.She is flying high with the angels.Mena worked for the Pasco County School Board as a beloved substitute teacher. She later moved tospecial needs as an ESE IA before retiring. Once retiring she utilized her greatest gift of love working withspecial needs adults for Respite. Befriending, loving, and caring for many people.Mena is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Roger and Kristin Thompson. Daughter and son in-lawCyndi and Bret Kirkpatrick. Four grandchildren, Cathy, Emily, Kayla, and Shara. Brother John Suarez.Preceded by her father and mother, Robert Suarez, and Anne Gilfillan Davis.We will celebrate Miss Mena on Saturday, February 18, 2023, 1:00 pm- 4:00pm.Please join us at the VFW in Dade City 2735 VFW RD Dade City FL 33525.
