MINNIX, Mellie Jane, 85, of Ridge Manor, FL., entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 19, 2022. She was born on October 25, 1936, to parents, Adam Hardy and Sally Holman in Ponce de Leon, FL. Mellie found the love of her life, Joe Cecil Minnix, and the two were soon joined in marriage on December 29, 1956. Joe and Mellie settled in Pasco county Florida, where Mellie was a homemaker and stay at home mother, and they were blessed with five children. Mellie was always a busy woman, but she loved her free time, some of her favorite hobbies were, Fishing, Gaming on her tablets, cheering on her favorite NASCAR driver, Jimmie Johnson, and her favorite and most cherished memories were all the trips she went out to eat with her family. Mellie was and always will be a special woman, she always put everyone before herself, she was known for doing everything she possibly could to help someone, her family meant the world to her. Survivors include, her children, Bobby Joe Minnix, Lisa Ann Adams, Lois Marie Spann (Raymond Gregory Spann), Gloria Jane Blankenship (Andrew (Steve) Blankenship). Grandchildren; Kimberly Fritts, Christopher Fritts, Brittany Nicole Spann, Joseph Ray Spann, Steven Blankenship (Erica Helms), Kristen Blankenship (Rocky Castro), Tiffany Hope Blankenship (Avery Hill), Greatgrandchildren; Elizabeth Lehman, Bryce Gibson, Brentley G. Blankenship, Brayden M. Blankenship, Braxton B. Blankenship, Cameron A. Castro, Logan R. Castro, Elicia Castro, Aiden J. Mosher, Paisley Mae Hill, Lilly Krum, and Austin Krum, Sister In Law, Peggy (Johnny) Hodges, Nephews; Wendell and James Cassidy, and Rex Smith, and many more dearly loved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Cecil Minnix, Daughter, Mary Catherine Minnix, and Sister, Easter V. Cassidy. The services are entrusted to the care of Hodges Family Funeral Home Dade City, a visitation is scheduled for Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 12:00 pm 2:00 pm with a service to promptly begin at 2:00 pm, with burial to follow at Chapel Hills Gardens, which is located directly next to the funeral home.
