Not in a battle, but rather a journey. Mathew Weaver Rodgers, 25 of Dade City, Fl, passed away on 1-15-2015 from complications due to a rare Sarcoma.Mathew, an identical twin, was born in Meridian Mississippi and grew up in Florida attending schools in Pasco County. He graduated from Pasco High with honors in 2008. Attended PHCC and then St Leo University. Completed BA Technical Writing in 2012, all while working full time.Mathew thrived when he was busy. Work, school, writing and music. If it had strings he could play it, but his passion was the guitar. Musician and poet he composed close to forty songs. The qualities of compassion, emotional maturity, sincerity and a clear understanding of the spirit that connects all of us is reflected in his lyrics and are the reason he is remembered and missed by friends of all ages, family, Professors, teachers, employers and hospital staff.He will be missed by his Father, Walter Arpie Rodgers and wife Diane Rodgers of Seffner, Fl, his Mother Johanna Mae Sanchez and husband Carlos Sanchez of Dade City, Fl. His twin brother, Joseph Arp Rodgers of Oviedo, Fl, a sister Danielle Nanassy, and Russell Walter Rodgers, his little brother.Grandparents Richard and Mary McCall of Dade City, Fl and Bettye Johnson of Sherwood, Arkansas along with numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.Mathew was a member of The Drikung Kagyu sect of Tibetan Buddhism.He will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the near future.Mathews treatment will aid in the research and treatment of future patients diagnosed with Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Sarcoma.
