MARYANN C. TAYLOR age 76, died in her home surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Maryann was born in Georgia on April 2, 1945, to Geri Rene Price Hurst. She was raised on Davis Island and attended Plant High School. She spent much of her childhood with her Aunt Mary Cashwell and her children, Larry, Ronny, and Wally Cashwell. She had a stepbrother named Lee Browner. She was close as an adult to her Uncle Danny Price and Aunt June Price which she met when she was living in Michigan. She met the love of her life early on and married in June 1962. She and H. Alan Taylor were married for 59 years, but together a few years prior. You could say that they were the epitome of opposites attract. He was by her side through all the ups and downs of their life and remained there up until the very end. Maryann spent most of her career working for Youth and Family Alternative, runaway shelters, and United Way. When she was not working, she loved to travel and go to the beach. She was a massive Florida Gators fan. Her music interests included Garth Brooks and Elvis Presley, who were her favorite. Melanie Myrice was not only her neighbor but became her best friend in the last years of her time. They spent a lot of time talking of their family, friends, past and built a strong bond. She is survived by her husband H. Alan Taylor, daughter Leah Warner and spouse Dennis, son Leith Taylor and spouse Carol; four grandchildren: Charlene Warner, Denise Warner, Brandi Warner, and Dennis Warner Jr; six great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn Olds, Tyler Olds, Ashlee Olds, Kaeden Swartz, Henry Pierce, and Mckayla Pierce; and great, great-grandchild Laela Bratt. No funeral services will be held. In lieu, there will be a celebration of Life for Maryann C. Taylor on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at 3 pm at their home for family and close friends.
