She was born on July 8, 1935, in Newark, New Jersey to Claire Bradley Miller and Gertrude (Flynn) Miller She is preceded in death by her husband: Michael Patrick Shaughnessy, daughter Nancy Foerster and son Robert Hrasna Mary Ann is survived by her eldest son: Harold Hrasna, grandson: Jason Foerster, granddaughter Melissa Miller, great grandson Asher Miller, Niece Christine Miller,: Grand nephew, Matthew Schwab Grand niece, Meredith Spence, her husband, Chad Spence, and their 2 children, Chase & Stevie Spence. Family, family, and family. Mary Ann always put her children first and her best friend in the world was her daughter, Nancy. They were inseparable, daily, in one way or another. The loss of Nancy at 49 was a severe blow for Mary Ann, but she kept Nancys spirit and loving personality alive. Her middle son Bob, got the gift of conversation from Mary Ann and she was so proud when he chose his passion ofbeing a minister of faith. Her eldest son Hal, got her business sense and caretaker of keeping the family together. He is now the patriarch of the family along with her niece, Christine, matriarch Mary Ann appreciated many forms of music and even taught piano for many years when she was raising her children. She enjoyed gardening and painting as well as always having a dog at her side. She leaves behind her Maltese girl, Abbey, who will be cared for always by our dear family friend Diane. As her children matured, she learned the business of custom interior decorating and enjoyed that career alongside her longtime friend, Kathy Groeger. Another career after that was being a successful owner of a small construction company in New Jersey started by her son Hal and later tried her hand at real estate sales and again she nailed it with her outgoing and sincere personality. She loved sales, meeting people and good conversations and if there was a good or even corny joke to be told, she would tell it! Moving to Florida to be near her daughter and son was a priority with her husband, Michael Shaughnessy, in the mid 2000s They lived in Dade City, at the Highlands at Scotland Yard, and, once again, Mary Ann became a real estate agent for the homes represented there. Many friends were made there and she cherished them as well as old friends still in New Jersey. She loved the sense of community in her Dade City home and came to rely on the good nature of her friends there when she had her health issues. As many folks come to realize, hopefully, as Mary Ann did, she would say "Love is all that matters" and she had all the faith in God always. Arrangements entrusted to Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida.
