Mary Lee Madill Parsons 96 of Zephyrhills passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Candler, NC. She was born in Plant City to the late Warren B. Madill and Nina Mae Madill Waters in March of 1922. Mary Lee was raised in Dade City where she met and married Benjamin "Jack" Parsons of Zephyrhills. She and Ben spent most of their married life in Hialeah, FL where she owned and operated Mary Lees Dress Shop. After retirement they moved to Zephyrhills and spent their summers at their mountain home in Candler, NC.

Mary Lee had a great love of life and enormous creative energy. She loved traveling the world, and zipping around on mountain roads in her golf cart. She was an accomplished seamstress and quilter. Her hobbies also included china painting, oil painting, and furniture refinishing. She was an avid collector of antiques and Hummel figurines. In 1983 at the age of 61 she earned her cosmetology license. For years she delighted in cutting and styling the hair of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Parsons, her son, Jack Parsons, her sister, Bonnie Mae Barfield Dail, and her four brothers, Allen, James, Lawrence, and Ed Madill. She is survived by her son, Fred E. Parsons, his wife, Diane, her sister Ninetta Powell, and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City on October 13 at 11:00. Flowers will be gratefully accepted, or those who wish may make a donation in Mary Lees name to a charity of their choice.
