October 9, 1927 - December 24, 2020

Mary Lou Sutherin Metcalfe, 93, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on Dec. 24, 2020. Mary Lou was born to Paul and Esther Sutherin on October 9, 1927 in Negley, Ohio. In 1952 she married Robert E. (Bob) Metcalfe and the two sang professionally together for many years. One of the highlights of their singing career was singing for President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

The couple moved to Orlando, Florida in the early 1960s with their two young sons where Mary Lou worked in banking and continued singing professionally. After retirement they moved to Zephyrhills in the early 2000s and became members of the East Pasco Seventh-day Adventist Church. At the time of her death, Mary Lou was a long time resident of AdventHealth Care Center Zephyrhills North.

Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2005. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in law, Kevan and Deborah Metcalfe of Norco, CA, and Garth and Robyn Metcalfe of Apopka, FL; 3 grandchildren, Melanie Metcalfe Blais of Eastvale, CA, Madison Metcalfe and Mathew Metcalfe of Apopka, FL; 2 great-grandchildren, Jake and Ally Blais of Eastvale, CA; and her dearest friend and long time caretaker, Margie Claypool of Zephyrhills.

She will be interred in Orlando, FL, where gravesite services are pending.
