Mary Katherine Manning, aged 99, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2024, in Dade City, FL. She was born on June 16, 1925, in Elmira, NY, to Charles Spicer and Katherine Plum. Mary moved to Florida in 1957 and made a lifelong impact on those around her.
A beloved retired cook from Belcher Elementary in Clearwater, FL, Mary was known for her warmth, skill, and dedication to her work. She was also a proud member of the Protestant faith. Beyond her career, Mary held many titles: she was a member of the Ladies Golf Club at Town and Country, earning the title of club champion one memorable year, and she was the Queen of the Town and Country RV Resort—a reflection of the love and admiration she inspired.
Mary is survived by her loving family: sons Bob June and David Manning; daughter Susan Jeffries; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren, with another expected soon. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Francis Rae Manning, and her son, Michael Manning.
Mary's legacy is one of love, resilience, and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
