Mary Catherine (Fagan) Jones, 86, passed away early on April 13, 2015, in Jacksonville, Florida while surrounded by close family. Mary was born in Tampa, Florida on October 25, 1928, to Pearl (d. 1998) and James (d. 1983) Fagan. She is the widow of John Daniel Jones (d. 2012) and the sister of her only brother J.D. Fagan (d. 2009). She is survived by her children: Marlene J. Freelove (George), John M. Jones, Annette J. DeRenzo (Bob); grandchildren: Ashlee Hill (Kenny), Ryan Freelove, Katie Nelms (John), Jonathan Jones, Bobby and Mariah DeRenzo; great-grandchildren: Caitlin and Robert Gude, Clayton Nelms. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and special cousins. Married 65 years, John, her husband, adored and cherished her. They were residents and business owners in San Antonio, Florida, establishing "John and Mary's Grocery" (now "Local Public House & Provisions") and the local Jiffy" Store. They also lived in St. Joe (nicknamed "Lazy J"), Tampa Bay Golf & Country Club, and University Village, in Tampa. In December of 2011, they moved to Jacksonville to be closer to Johnny and Annettes families. It was during the John and Mary's Grocery days that she became known for her Saturday morning donuts. She worked in the store and was involved in the community. She wasa founding member of San Antonio Garden Club, a member of St. Anthony's Women's Club, The Leading Ladies Red Hat Club, and a long standing bridge group. She, as well as John, participated in many variety shows and plays put on in the community. Mary was also a devout member of the Catholic Church and sang in St. Joes Sacred Heart Church for years. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home (11441 US Highway 301, Dade City, Florida), on Friday, April 17. Funeral Service will be held at the St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of San Antonio, Florida at 10:00 am on Saturday. Graveside service, immediately following, at the Garden of Memories (State Highway 52, San Antonio, Florida). A Celebration of Life reception will be held after graveside services at Hampton Inn.
