Mary Blackmon Jeffries, 69 years old, passed away on August 27th after a two year struggle against colon cancer. She died peacefully in her sleep with her husband and daughter at her side. Mary was born in Hopewell, Virginia on October 6th 1952. She grew up with six brothers and sisters and travelled all over the United States as part of a carnival. She attended the University of Tampa and graduated with a degree in education. Mary taught elementary school in Hillsborough and Pasco Counties until retiring in 2022. Mary is survived by her husband Michael, her daughters Jahnne and Jennifer Martina, and her step-son Matthew Jeffries. Mary was a devout Christian with a strong belief in God. She will be welcomed in heaven and missed on earth. There will be a brief memorial on Saturday, September 3rd, at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Zephyrhills at 2PM.
