FLANNERY, Mary Lou, of Dade City, was called Home to God on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at the age of 85. She was born on July 19, 1937 in Hartsville, SC to parents Maxie Lee Gilbert & Maggie Gilbert (Lundy). She grew up with her beloved siblings that preceded her in death: Maxie, Jessie, Woodrow, Tiny Tim, Jay, Margaret, Ruby, and Barbara. Mary Lou married the love of her life, Lonnie L. Flannery, in Key West, FL on July 1, 1959. She was a dedicated military spouse for 21 years of their marriage while Lonnie served as a Naval Master Chief. They raised three children together: Dwayne Flannery, Veronica Burrell, and Audrey Flannery. Mary Lou and Lonnie remained happily married until he was called Home to God on February 14, 1997. She was a an accomplished entrepreneur and business woman, owning both Blanton Market and Country Visions Window Decor. She was also very active in the community, serving the church and playing a huge role in providing the community Fire Department. In her free time, she enjoyed homemaking and spending time with her family.Mary Lou will also be fondly remembered by her four grandchildren: Michael Flannery, Willian Hecksher III, Olivia Flannery, and Kaylan Farrar; three great-grandchildren: Connor & Alice Flannery, and Wyatt Farrar; along with many other friends and loved ones. A visitation will be held from 5-7pm on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home the following day, Wednesday August 31, 2022, at 10am. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Gardens.
