Backlinie, Mary Ellen, 91 of San Antonio, FL passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012 at her home. She came to San Antonio in 1930 with her parents William & Mary Agnes Nalley and her brother Bill. She attended St. Anthony School and Holy Name Academy and was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church. She was an active member of the first Womens Club at St. Anthonys and a volunteer at the Dade City Hospital. She was a member of the Red Hat Society of San Antonio and worked with her husband Louie at the San Antonio Market and Louies Bowling Center in Dade City and Brooksville until his retirement. She is survived by 3 children: Bob (Sandra) Backlinie, San Antonio, FL, Bill (Debra) Backlinie, Ocala, FL, Charlene (Ronnie) Pitts, San Antonio, FL; 1 niece: Nancy Nalley; 1 sister-in-law: Delores Nalley; 7 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Louie Backlinie and brother: Bill Nalley. Funeral services will be held 10am Monday, September 17, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Church. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends for viewing from 2-4pm Sunday afternoon at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations in her memory to HPH Hospice.
