Marona J. "Ronnie" Roop, age 76, of Dade City gained her Angel Wings on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

She was born in Texarkana, TX to parents John W. and Lola E. Higgs on August 29, 1947. She was a 1965 graduate of Northeast High School, St. Petersburg, FL. She loved to dance, listen to Country Music (especially Luke Bryan), and the Tampa Bay Rays! She and her husband owned and operated Marine Towing & Repair/ Tow Boat US St. Petersburg/Clearwater from 1980 until their retirement in 2003.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 50+ years, George W. Roop.

Survivors include her beloved daughter, Teresa L. Roop; siblings Skip, Cookie, and Donnie; nephew, Christopher; niece, Beverly; great-nephew, Jeramy; great-niece, Alyssa; and her beloved grand-dogs Sassie, Sissie, and Georgie.

A Celebration of her Life will be held 4pm Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the 301 Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time (3pm -4pm) at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
