Mark Alexander Teter, 63, of Dade City, Florida, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 25, 2025, after a long illness.

Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Mark was the 11th of 12 children and grew up in Paoli, Pennsylvania. He moved to Florida in 1994, where he built a life filled with love, family, and passion for learning. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in English from West Chester University and later obtained a Master's degree from the University of Florida.

Mark's career was as varied as his interests—working as a professional landscaper, business owner, and educator before embracing his most cherished role as a stay-at-home dad. He was an avid reader, always with a book in hand, a music and movie buff, and found happiness in gardening, cheering on his favorite sports teams (the Gators, Rays, Bucs, and Eagles), and, most of all, spending time with his family. Whether as a devoted husband, a loving father, an adoring Pop-pop to his grandchildren, or a caring uncle, Mark's warmth and presence touched many lives.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan (Ivie) Teter Jones; his children, Joshua Jones, Julia (Eddie) Leonard, Jacob Teter Jones, Jenna (Justin) Weeks, and Jude Teter; and his grandchildren, Luna Lee, Stella Weeks, Weston Weeks, and Eleanor Jones. He also leaves behind his siblings, Dixon (Anne) Teter, David (Marie) Teter, Noel Lerner, Jill Teter, DeSales Foster, Greg (Mary) Teter, Tim (Betty-Anne) Teter, Chris (Cath) Teter, Heidi (Jerry) Lawley, and Nicolas (Lori) Teter; as well as his mother-in-law, Janet Ivie, sisters-in-law, Sarah (Jeff) Jeter, Sharon (Jeff) Phillips, and brother-in-law Joe (Jennifer) Ivie, and many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Dixon and Mary Helene Teter; his sister, Lenore Teter, MD; his father-in-law, AJ Ivie; and his nieces and nephew, Jordan Ivie, Rose-Mary Bottom, and Anthony Fanelli.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Friday, April 11th, at 1 PM, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Phillips' private residence on Saturday, April 12th, at 4 PM Mark's legacy of kindness, wisdom, and love will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
