Mark Scott Fountain ("Papа"), 55, passed away on January 23, 2026, in Tampa, Florida. He was born on July 19, 1970, in Dade City, Florida, to Joe Lee Fountain and Linda Carolyn Fountain (McKee). 

Mark lived most of his life in Ridge Manor, where the Withlacoochee River, the Florida game reserve, and Ridge Manor Estates served as both his backyard and his playground. There, you could often find him fishing, hunting, four-wheeling, or pulling logs. He had a deep love for the outdoors and the water. He also enjoyed football, the NFL, and NASCAR-but nothing compared to his lifelong devotion to the Florida Gators. 

Mark worked as an electrician and telecommunications installer, a career that allowed him to travel much of the country and experience many adventures along the way. 

He had a personality that could light up a room and a laugh that brought joy to everyone around him. To those who knew him best, it was his storytelling that made him unforgettable-always full of humor, surprises, and larger-than-life moments. You never knew what story was coming next, but you always knew it would make you laugh. 

Being "Papa" to his granddaughter, Lyla Gene Wolford, brought him the greatest joy and pride of his life. 

Mark is survived by his daughter, Maggie Marie Fountain (Dakota Wolford); his father, Joe Fountain; his brother, Lee Fountain (Michelle); his niece, Jessica Fountain; his granddaughter, Lyla Gene Wolford; and his life partner, Donna Reedy ("Shug"). He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Fountain.
