Mead, Marjorie E, 91. She was born August 23, 1923 in Norwalk, CT and passed away on 1/16/2015 in her home in Zephyrhills. She was proceeded in death by her parents Mildred and Wesley Meehan and her husband Charles L Mead. She married Charles in 1947 and he passed away on 8/6/2003. He was a pharmacist and owned Meads' Drugstore in Norwalk. They moved to Zephyrhills in 1975 when her husband retired. She is survived by two sons; Gerald and Owen Mead both of Zephyrhills, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. During World War II she served in the US Coast Guard and was stationed as a radio operator in air/sea rescue in New York City. She was a professional musician playing piano at an early age and later as a flutist playing in the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra as principal flutist, also playing organ in churches for over 65 years. She was the organist at the First United Methodist Church in Zephyrhills, Trilby, and San Antonio. She taught piano since 1976 in Zephyrhills. She was a member of the Eastern Star since 1942 in Connecticut. There will be no visiting hours or funeral. The family requests in lieu of flowers to donate to Hernando/Pasco Hospice.
