Marilyn May Martin Hood, 84, of Zephyrhills, passed awaySaturday, August 29th at 1:35 am.Marilyn is survived by her sisters, Phyllis Hartley of Lafayette, Indiana, Judy Stark (Bruce) of Stockwell, Indiana, sister in law Ruth Martin of Indiana. Her daughters, Jacqueline D. Grant, (Scott) of Dade City, Melinda S. Rubino of Trinity, Teresa L. Cooke, (Kenneth) of Spring Hill. Her grandchildren, Timothy J. Staten, Anthony T. Staten, Victoria R. Staten, Shaun T. Downing, Chase V. Rubino, Kaleb P. Cooke, and Kolby L. Cooke. Seven great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews, Ronda King, Mary Martin, Rick Martin, Cindy Meyer, Brian Martin, Bob Hartley, Dan Hartley, Donna Batta, Pam Wentworth, Jimmy Stark and Melody Brassard.She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred Martin and Orville Martin, brother Gordon Martin and former husband Arthur F. Hood. Marilyn was born in Lafayette, Indiana, moving to Zephyrhills with her husband and children in 1965. She worked In the Pasco-Hillsborough area for several law firms as well as the Tampa Board of Realtors.Marilyn worked two full time jobs while going to school full time at PHCC, graduating with honors and her bachelors degree. She continued with her schooling at St. Leo College where she received Her Masters. This was all done while she was raising her three daughters. She later went on to study and receive her Real Estate License.Marilyn had a love and passion for gardening and antiques. Shereceived several awards for arrangements while a member of the Zephyrhills Garden Club.Visitation will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 36327 State Road 54 in Zephyrhills at 10 am on Thursday, September 3rd, with the funeral service to follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Oakside Cemetery located on 1st Street in Zephyrhills, where she will be laid to rest beside her former late husband, Arthur F. Hood.All are welcome to attend and celebrate in Marilyns life. Reception to follow at 36636 Blanton Road in Dade City.
