Marie Elizabeth Hanson, 80, longtime resident of Dade City, died peacefully on February 17, 2022, after a brief illness. Born in Chicago, IL on July 25, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Elizabeth Trovato and wife of almost 52 years to Gregory Hanson. Marie and Greg were married on March 7, 1970, in Clarendon Hills, Illinois. They started their life together in the Plainfield area of Illinois before moving to Florida in 1983. She made a career of being a housekeeper and caretaker of residents around Dade City. Her hobbies included riding around on Saturday mornings checking out garage sales, trips to the Casino and tending to her orchids. She also loved when her family gathered at the house for birthdays, holidays and more. Her happiest days were spent with her family gathered over dinner. Survivors include her children Terri Severson Capehart, Tony (Jayne) Hanson, Dino (Haddie) Hanson, Mark (MaryAnn) Hanson, grandchildren: Lisa, Danielle, Michael, Samantha, Emily, many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with siblings George Trovato, Anthony Trovato, and Vicki Bowen. Predeceased by her grandson Jacob and fur companion Wally. There will be a private ceremony held at the Florida National Cemetery for family.
