Obituary

Marian Ford Sadler July 4, 1941 March 12, 2021 Like the firecracker she was in life, Marian Ford was born on the Fourth of July, in 1941, in New Albany, IN. She was the third of six children to William Marion and Dollie Mae (Kingsolver) Ford. The family moved a lot during her early years, but finally settled in Tampa, FL. Marian graduated from H.B. Plant High School in the Class of 1959. Always the adventurer, Marian started her career with Eastern Airlines in Tampa before being transferred to Cocoa Beach, FL during the height of the NASA space program. She was included with the media, and up close for most of the early launches - which she always considered a highpoint in her life. Marian was always cheerful, vibrant, and full of life. She loved writing and photography. She also enjoyed traveling and outdoor activities especially hiking, camping, and canoeing. More than any place, she loved the beach. For most of her life she lived on or near thenAtlantic Ocean, often playing host to her many visiting family members. After Eastern, Marian worked for and retired from USAA. During this time, she lived in Tampa and Dade City, before returning to the call of the ocean and life on the space coast. She had only recently moved to Zephyrhills to be closer to family members. Marian was 79 years old, and often went by the nickname "Charlie." Marian was preceded in death by brother Russell Ford of Moore Haven, FL; and brother-in-law Raymond Manietta of Coal City, IL. Marian is survived by sister-in-law Velma Ford of Moore Haven, FL; sister Betty Manietta of Coal City, IL; sister Emily and David Walker of Tampa, FL; sister Lloyd and JC Thompson of Hiawassee, GA; brother Jeff and Debbie Ford of Zephyrhills, FL; and many loving nieces and nephews. Marian adored her family, and almost never missed a holiday, birthday, or important life event. Marian was happiest when surrounded by family, and she will be greatly missed. A memorial service and reception will be held on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM, at Hodges Family Funeral Home, located at 36327 Highway 54, Zephyrhills, FL 33541.
