Obituary

Margaret Mary Salomon 96, of Dade City, FL, passed away Saturday, October 23rd, 2022. She was born April 23, 1926, in Otley, Yorkshire, England to Stephen Thomas Carling and Kathleen E. Thompson. She left behind 1 son: Quentin Olive, TX and 1 daughter-in-law: Rhonda Olive, FL; 5 step-children: Brian Salomon, CA, Bradley Salomon, TX, James (Laura) Salomon, WA, Jeannine (Michael) Zorovich, TX, Robert (Mary) Salomon, IA; Grandchildren Devin Leslie Monarca, Jesse Olive, and Shelby Allen. She was preceded in death by a son: Richard Olive and grandson Trevor.

Margaret was a very special lady who possessed elegance and grace. She was a beauty inside and out. Being a devout Catholic, she prayed her Rosary daily and held her prayer book within arms reach. She was a light shining in this world. While residing in Long Island, NY, she managed an upscale restaurant, Truman's, where her son, Richard, also worked as a Sous-chef. She was active in the community and loved the arts, participating in the reenactment of Victorian Era theater. An avid reader of romance novels amongst other literature, she had an impressive collection of books which brought her much joy.

When relocating to Sedona, AZ she gained employment as a bookkeeper for the Sedona Fire Department. This is where her path crossed with Jules, her husband. Having a love to perform, she joined the local community theatre and was featured in several newspaper articles. Upon moving to Dade City, Fl, she became part of the choir as a soprano at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in San Antonio for many years. Being such a selfless person, Margaret managed a pregnancy center in Dade City before finally retiring. Margaret loved her family dearly, and her cup of tea! She will surely be missed immensely by all.
