Margaret Louise Palmer, age 89, of Zephyrhills, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 5, 2026.

Margaret was born on August 17, 1936, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, to Donald John McGrath and Margaret Dorothy Prudish McGrath.

She spent her early years in Forest City, Pennsylvania, before moving to Binghamton, New York, where she lived until her retirement. Following retirement, Margaret made Florida her home and became a longtime resident.

Margaret enjoyed a long career with Security Mutual Insurance Company, where she worked faithfully for many years before retiring.

Margaret enjoyed spending her free time doing the things she loved. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed sewing, and loved reading a good book. She will be remembered by her family and friends for the many memories they shared together.

Margaret is survived by her beloved husband, Carl Palmer; her daughters, D. Suzanne Millard and her husband, Marty Millard, and Diane Burdick and her husband, Lynn Burdick; her grandchildren, Matthew Millard, Amanda Waite, and Cassie Burdick; and her great-grandchildren, Charley Millard, Mia Millard, Rachel Waite, Elyse Waite, and Chase Burdick Branning; and sister: Johanna Olmstead

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews , Donna Lynn Babka, Richard Cheslo, Margaret Fitzgibbons, Mary Cheslo, Linda Cheslo and Amy Mischler.

Margaret was preceded in death by her former husband, Charley Connelly, and her sister, Donna Cheslo.

Funeral services will be held at a future date. Margaret will be laid to rest in Elmira, New York.The family has entrusted Hodges Family Funeral Home with the arrangements.
