Margaret Frances Cross of Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club, San Antonio, Fl, died on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at her home surrounded by loving family. She was 92 years old.

Her children and their spouses survive Margaret, John (Laura) Ranagan of Yorktown Heights, NY, William Ranagan of Sarasota, FL, Margaret (Gary) Smith of Kennesaw, GA, Katherine (Micky) Memoly of Edison, NJ, Patricia Griffith of Yorktown Heights, NY, Veronica Cross Catalfamo of Beacon, NY Brian (Jane) Ranagan of West Hartford, CT and Brenda (Kenneth) Ross of San Antonio, FL. Margaret was the most loving Nanny to 21 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband's John Ranagan and Joseph (Mitch) Cross, her children Michael and Mary, her granddaughter Colleen Ranagan her brothers James and Daniel Morrow, her sister Florence Brown, and her parents Florence and Samuel Morrow.

Margaret was born on August 24, 1930, in Bronx, NY. She graduated from St Nicholas of Tolentine High school in Bronx, NY in 1948.

Margaret married John in 1951. They met at a neighborhood dance in the Bronx. They moved to Yorktown Heights in 1959 and raised their family together until John died in 1975. To support her family Margaret attended the B.O.C.E.S School of Nursing and became an LPN in 1977. Her favorite post as a nurse was caring for newborn babies.

Margaret married Joseph (Mitch) Cross in 1982 and moved to San Antonio, FL in 1998. They enjoyed 26 years of marriage until Mitch died in 2009.

Margaret loved to dance, she was an ardent member of St Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and served as a Eucharist Minister. Margaret and Mitch were founding members of the Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club First Responders and served on the Board of Directors.

There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday, December 9th from 4-6 pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel Dade City FL. The mass will be the following day at 10 am at St Anthony of Padua Catholic church in San Antonio, Fl.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics Georgia, 6046 Financial Drive, Norcross, Georgia 30071
