ELDER, Malcom "Mike", age 77, a lifelong resident of Florida, passed away on September 30, 2019 in Aurora, IL. Malcom was born on June 3, 1942 in Montgomery, AL to parents William & Janie Mae Elder.

Mike lived life to the fullest and always with a story to tell. He really never knew a stranger because he would talk with you as if he knew you for a life time. He worked for Pasco Beverage, formerly known as Lykes Pasco, for 28 years and was willing to share his knowledge of his trade and help younger people he worked with develop the passion that he had for his work. He always was willing to help anyone who needed it. Mike was preceded in death by his parents and several other family members. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Mary Elder; three children: Michael Elder of Lake in the Hills, IL, Brian Elder (Jennifer) of Aurora, IL, and Lori Matas (Robert) of Montgomery, IL; three stepchildren, although he thought of them as children: Paul Dixon (Veronica) of New Castle, VA, Christopher Dixon (Sheena) of Bath, NY, and Floyd Dixon of Dade City, FL; four siblings: Sarah Elder Kramer of Charleston, SC, James Elder (Mary) of Aurora, IL, Lazarus "Mac" Elder (Vicki) of Missouri, and Theodore Elder (Leslie) of Olney, IL; numerous grandchildren who he loved dearly (including two very special grandchildren, Jada & Jacob Dixon, whom were being raised by Mike & Mary) and several great-grandchildren. Mike will surely be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5pm at Withlacoochee River Park on November 10, 2019. If you are able, please bring a dish and a story to share.
