Magdaleno “Pipo” Contreras passed away on September 10, 2026. A beloved brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, Pipo will forever be remembered for his generous heart, joyful spirit, unwavering faith, and unconditional love for others.

Pipo was preceded in death by his loving parents, Magdaleno Contreras Sr. and Ramona Zarate, and his brothers, Angel Contreras and Fernando Contreras.

He leaves behind his devoted sisters, Analicia Contreras, Rosa Maria Gomez, Maria de Jesús Martinez, and Francisca Otero; his brother, Alberto Contreras; and his many beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, and the many friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.

A proud graduate of Land O’ Lakes High School, Pipo was well known and deeply loved throughout his community. He generously volunteered at many town functions and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Throughout his life, Pipo overcame countless health challenges with remarkable strength and grace. His disability never held him down or dimmed his light. On the contrary, it made him stand taller, shine brighter, love more deeply, and become one of the strongest people to enter any room. He was happy with his life and rarely complained, no matter what difficulties he faced. His love for his family could move mountains—especially during moments when others might have chosen to walk away.

Pipo was a faithful and humble servant of the Lord. His faith guided his life and could be seen in the compassion he showed to others. He always looked for the good in every person, opened his heart and home to many people in need, and gave whatever help he could.

He found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures. Pipo loved playing bingo, making crafts, baking, cooking, attending football games, and enjoying outings with his family. He delighted in parties and trips to the casino, always hoping he might be the one to win big. More than anything, he enjoyed being surrounded by the people he loved.

Pipo was truly the life of every gathering. His joyful presence filled a room, and he always made certain that everyone felt welcomed, included, and loved. His enormous heart, beautiful smile, and ability to bring happiness to others made him unforgettable.

Although Pipo’s passing leaves a tremendous emptiness in the hearts of those who loved him, his light will never fade. His courage, faith, generosity, and unconditional love will continue to live through his family, his community, and every person fortunate enough to have known him.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hodges Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Dade City Cemetery.

Pipo lived with faith, loved without condition, and faced every obstacle with courage. May he now rest peacefully in the loving arms of the Lord, and may his beautiful light continue to shine through all who knew and loved him.
