Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Madeline Stedman, a beloved mother, friend, and esteemed member of her community. Madeline passed away peacefully on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the age of 86.

Madeline was born in Manhattan, New York, on Friday, May 13, 1938. She grew up in the vibrant streets of New York City, where she would later establish her residences in Staten Island, Brooklyn, and San Antonio, Florida.

After graduating high school, Madeline embarked on a remarkable career, eventually becoming the Vice President of the PNS Department at Bear Stearns. In her professional life, she was known for her leadership, integrity, and dedication.

In 1967, Madeline married William E. Stedman in Brooklyn, New York. Their union was filled with love, laughter, and partnership until William's passing. Together, they created a life rich with memories and joy.

Madeline was a woman of many passions. She loved dancing, had an insatiable curiosity for travel, and enjoyed trying her luck at the casino. She was known for her sweet nature, her ability to light up any room, and being the life of the party. As an "awesome mom and great friend," she touched the hearts and lives of everyone she encountered.

She is survived by her devoted son, Joseph DiBenedetto, and his wife, Lisa. Her legacy of love, joy, and kindness will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Maria Petringa; brother, Sal Petringa; and daughter, Debbie DiBenedetto, all of whom she missed dearly and carried on their memory during her life.

Funeral services to celebrate Madeline's life will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home, 301, on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 10:00 am.

Madeline's vibrant spirit and infectious smile will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love and the importance of cherishing every moment we are given.
