Lydia Ann Shye-Malcolm, 64, of Pinellas Park, Florida, was taken to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Morton Plant Hospital, after a valiant fight post open heart surgery. Lydia was born on March 26, 1961 in Toledo, Ohio.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Charles Hilton Shye and Betty Jean Shye. She was married on June 30, 1981 to Joseph Kenneth Malcolm, of Pinellas Park, Florida. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and younger brother, John David Shye of Dade City, Florida.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph; two daughters, Danielle Elizabeth Malcolm and Mariah Rose Malcolm; granddaughter, Nalani Isabella Davis; siblings, Charles Hilton Shye II, Mary Louise Leonard and her husband Daniel Leonard; several nieces and nephews, Erik Dean Jorgensen, Amber Kristine Jorgensen, Christina Leigh Lester, John David Shye II, and Justin Wayne Shye; as well as several great nieces and nephews, Alexis Grace Jorgensen, Ceana Marie Green, Caleb Gonzales, Alaya Noelle Green, Kala Elizabeth Fortes, and Grant Jameson Shye.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, in the Chapel of Hodges Family Funeral Home ( 11441 US HIGHWAY 301, Dade City, FL 33525 ) between 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., with funeral services to follow. Pastor Paul will be officiating the service. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens, Dade City, following services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the family’s gofundme, which can be provided upon reaching out to Joseph, Danielle, or Mariah via facebook. Thank you for cherishing and honoring our beloved Lydia.
