Obituary

Luther Lynson Rozar, Jr., 88, passed away peacefully at his home in San Antonio, Florida on Saturday September 15th 2018.He was born November 1929 between Bevilles Corner and Bushnell Florida. He was the son of the late Luther L. Rozar, Sr. and Reba Dixon Rozar.He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Patricia Bunker Rozar and brothers Jimmy, Billy and Everett.Luther loved his community and worked tirelessly in many capacities to help one and all. He and his wife Pat were involved with East Pasco Habitat for Humanity for many years changing the lives of many local residents. He was a member of the local Kiwanis Club and a lifetime member of the Florida Pioneer Museum.After serving in the Korean conflict he spent the majority of his career as an Agricultural Extension Agent in Pasco and Sarasota counties. In the early years he was deeply involved with the local 4-H and FFA clubs. One of his greatest pleasures was sharing his knowledge and experience with his community.In the later stages of his life his passion was his garden and sharing the bounty of his labor with the local community. Luther will be dearly missed by his family, friends and the many people he has touched in the community.Luther is survived by his three children; Robert Bruce Rozar and wife, Lynette, of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Keith Andrew Rozar and wife, Marianne, of Whitefish, MT., and Amy Rozar Greene and husband, Jeff, of Sarasota, FL., seven grandchildren; Christopher Rozar and wife Melissa, Sarah Rozar Sanderson and husband Noah, Gregory Rozar, Elizabeth Janna Privette and husband Ian, Rebecca Kaylyn Rozar, Michael Hunter Greene, and Daniel Forrest Greene and wife Lyndi. Two great-granddaughters; Anna Juliette Rozar and Arya Reignlyn Greene. Two siblings; Mary Sue Brewer and Steve Rozar. Plus many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and friends.Luthers family will be forever grateful for the care given by Mary K. Rupe and William Prine over the last several years, enabling him to enjoy his life at home.There will be a gathering of family and friends on Friday September 21, 2018 from 5-7pm at Hodges Family Funeral Home 5th St. Chapel Dade City, FL. The funeral service will be on Saturday September 22,2018 at St. Mary's Episcopal Church Dade City, FL. at 10am.The committal will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in San Antonio, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to East Pasco Habitat for Humanity, Florida Pioneer Museum, or the Dade City Kiwanis Club.Arrangements by Hodges Family Funeral Home 301 Chapel Dade City,FL.
