It is with immense sorrow that we announce the passing of Luther Cecil Cribbs Jr., a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on Friday, November 7th, 2025. Born on Sunday, April 10th, 1949, in Jacksonville, Florida, Luther was a cherished member of the Tampa, Florida community, where he resided in his later years.

Luther's early life was rooted in Perry, Florida, where he cultivated lifelong friendships and began to nurture his love for the great outdoors. His adventurous spirit led him to proudly serve in the United States Air Force, a testament to his dedication and patriotism.

After his military service, Luther devoted his professional career to ensuring the safety and security of others as a security guard. In his personal time, he indulged in his passions for hunting, fishing, and exploring the world of automobiles as an avid car enthusiast.

Luther was a devoted brother, survived by his loving sisters, Catherine Blommel of Dade City, FL; Sharon McElrath of Huntsville, AL; and Margaret Ann Williams of Boynton Beach, FL. He was also a treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews, who will fondly remember his kindness and wit. His cherished cat, Kee Kee, was a constant companion, providing him joy and comfort.

Luther was predeceased by his beloved sisters Cecile Corrigan and Tricia Brown, as well as his parents, Ouida and Luther Cribbs Sr., who surely welcomed him home with open arms and loving hearts.

As we honor Luther's life and legacy, services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at a later date, ensuring he finds his final resting place among fellow veterans. Arrangements are being handled with care and compassion by Hodges Family Funeral Home.
