Lucille “Lucy,” “Mom,” “Mamma” Pidgeon (LaCroix), 86, of Winooski, passed away peacefully on June 8,
2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on May 18, 1940, to Armand and Angela (Kirby) LaCroix, Lucy lived a life rooted in faith, family,
friendship, and kindness. A proud Vermont resident, she and her beloved husband, Wayne Pidgeon, spent
winters in Florida, creating cherished memories together during nearly 40 years of marriage. Wayne’s care and
devotion ensured Lucy’s final days were spent in comfort and peace, wrapped in the warmth of their shared
love.
Lucy is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne; her daughter, Kathy Peet, and husband, Jim; her son, Jon
Thibault, and wife, Heidi; her grandchildren, Ashley Thibault; Tiffany Peet and fiancé, Eric; Jeremy Peet and
wife, Hannah; and Jaron Thibault; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Kayden Martello and fiancée,
Chelsea; Lilyana Peet; and Walker Peet.
She was predeceased by her sister, Annette (Bombard) Myers; her beloved parents, Armand and Angela
LaCroix; and her nephews, Gary Bombard and Bill (“Little Bill”) Mead.
Lucy dedicated many years of her career to the medical field, working in medical records, where she formed
countless meaningful friendships that she carried with her throughout her life. Her compassion, warm smile, and
genuine interest in others left lasting impressions on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
A woman of deep faith, Lucy loved her church and found great comfort and strength in her relationship with
God. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures: creating crafts; spending hours in spirited Scrabble games;
tending to and admiring beautiful flowers; watching the birds from her swing; and sharing laughter and
adventures with family and friends. She especially enjoyed accompanying Wayne to car shows, making
memories together wherever the road led.
To her family, Lucy was the heart of many gatherings—a source of wisdom, comfort, and unconditional love.
Her gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and caring nature will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, strength, and family. While our hearts are heavy with loss, we find
comfort in knowing that her love will continue to guide us, her memories will continue to warm us, and her
faith will continue to inspire us.
“Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She was loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
