Louis A. "Butch" Sturchio, 89, of Dade City, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on May 22, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Louis lived a long, full, and hardworking life defined by dedication, talent, and a deep love for those around him.
Louis proudly served his country in the Armed Forces Reserves before building a lifelong career as a self-employed automotive service professional. Known for his mechanical skill, honest work, and friendly nature, he became a trusted name in his community and someone many relied on.
Throughout his life, Louis enjoyed staying active and involved in hobbies that brought him joy. He loved playing softball and spending time at the range, especially enjoying skeet and rifle shooting. A gifted musician, he played several instruments—including the harmonica, drums, piano, and organ—often filling family gatherings with music that reflected his warm, easygoing spirit.
Louis was one of seven children. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, Jackie, his siblings: Betty Louise (born October 8, 1932), Marie Camille (born August 10, 1934), Nancy Jean (born September 25, 1939), and Ralph Leonard (born November 4, 1943).
Louis was a devoted father and is survived by his children: Keith, Steven, and Sherry and siblings: Dolores (born December 10, 1937), Lawrence Edward (born September 17, 1941). He also leaves behind a loving family of grandchildren—Bianca, Adam, Andrew, Ashley, Kristin, Sierra, and Steven—each of whom brought him enormous pride and joy.
Throughout his life, Louis shared meaningful relationships and was previously married to Phyllis, Norma, and Myra.
Louis will be remembered for his gentle humor, his strong work ethic, and the music and laughter he brought into the lives of those who knew him. His legacy of kindness, skill, and love will continue to live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
