Blommel, Louis Paul, age 71, passed away on April 18, 2018 in Crystal River, Florida. He was born June 26, 1946 in Dade City, Florida to Frank J. and Mary (Puckett) Blommel.

Louis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Donna (Hurst) Blommel; one son, Timothy Blommel; six grandchildren, Derek Manspeeker, Jacob Blommel, Krista Blommel, Amanda Blommel, Chase Blommel and Ciara Ward; two great-grandchildren, Journi Blommel and Ausha Wasielewski; three brothers, Joe (Joanne) Blommel; Ted (Burkett) Blommel, and Bill (Margaret) Blommel; two sisters, Anne (Blommel) Hays (Sam) and Mary (Blommel) Scharber (Allen); sister-in-law, Reba Blommel; four daughter-in-laws, Kim (Bolin), Rebecca (Matthews), Jessica (Meyers) and Katie (Kiiah); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Louis was preceded in death by two sons, Anthony P. Blommel and Gregory V. Blommel; and two brothers, Francis J. Blommel and Eugene R. Blommel.

Louis joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1964 and served nine years, including one tour in Vietnam. He was a 100 percent disabled veteran.

A Catholic funeral mass will be held on Monday. April 23 at 10:30 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 32145 St. Joe Road, Dade City with Father John Hays officiating. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
