Lou Ellen (Zent) Gaines was born 3/21/1927 in Globe, Arizona to Llewellyn Zent and Lorraine (Hall) Zent. Lou had three sisters (Liz, Martha and Marge) and one brother (Llewellyn II).

The family moved to Panama for their dad's job. While there Lou Ellen met and married William H. Gaines Jr., who was in the military. They had two children; daughter, Sharon (Gaines) Linger (husband – William); and son, William Gaines III (wife – Marilyn). They then spent their lives moving and living in many interesting places both in the United States and overseas; eventually retiring in Zephyrhills, Florida. Lou also leaves behind 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Lou was always active in her community, taking exercise classes, art classes, Church activities, member of the Red Hats Society, and many more. She will always be known as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and a wonderful friend. She was a blessing to so many people throughout her whole life, and will be greatly missed.
