. Lonnie Louis Simonds, 79, of Lakeland, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 27th, 2024. He was born on Saturday, March 24th, 1945 in Athens, Tennessee to parents William Louis Simonds and Edna Ruth (Bradshaw) Simonds. Lonnie is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Kathryn Simonds of Lakeland, FL. They wed on January 19th, 1967 in Dade City, Florida, and grew a beautiful family together. Children: Dawn Michelle of Zephyrhills, FL, David Michael (Anna) of Lakeland, FL, Denise Marie (Tommy) of Panama City, FL; 7 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents: William "Bill" Simonds and Edna (Bradshaw) Simonds and his brother: James Simonds. Lonnie worked as a truck driver and was passionate about bass fishing, winning several tournaments throughout his life. A Visitation will be held at Hodges Family Funeral Home in Dade City, Florida on Thursday, May 30th, 2024 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm.
